Jeremy Padawer is a long time Pacific Palisades homeowner, resident and concerned citizen.
My home burned along with the other approximately 6,500 Pacific Palisades homes on 1/7/2025. I deeply love the Palisades. My family has lived here since 2009 / Los Angeles since 2000. We will rebuild. My frustration and desire to advocate is for the community - too many can not rebuild due to holding costs (including property taxes), insufficient insurance, extraordinarily high per square foot rebuilding costs and lack of transparency with builders, and / or other life's circumstances that I touch upon in the BLOG section.
I am not a politician. I don't hold a party affiliation. Party politics at the local level is a joke.
When a politician running for local office outlines their national political platform, you can almost guarantee their current job is only a means to an end. We need operators who work on behalf of their constituents without fear of losing their job - or losing the opportunity to move up a spot in the political pecking order. Isn't being Mayor of Los Angeles enough? Isn't being Governor of California enough? Isn't serving your local community enough? If the answer is no, please do not run for office.
We need people that understand budgets, leadership, the importance of giving tax payers full benefit of their tax dollars, complete transparency, safety, security and peace of mind.
Most importantly - We need to rebuild Pacific Palisades maintaining our heart and basic dignity of the citizens. Our leadership in Los Angeles used Pacific Palisades as a PIGGY BANK. We don't even know what % of our $600,000,000 in property taxes are allocated to the Palisades. I wonder if it's even 10%.
No more.
We can accept NO MORE of this.
And, until we're treated fairly and reasonably as a community, PacificPalisades.com will serve as a reminder that we're owed reasonable services for taxes paid.
